Buttered shrimp is a simple, flavorful dish featuring shrimp sautéed in a rich butter and garlic sauce, often enhanced with lemon juice and seasonings, perfect as a main course or appetizer.
Ingredients:
500g shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails optional)
3 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water, pat dry, and set aside.
Step 2: Melt Butter: Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
Step 3: Cook Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Step 4: Sauté Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp turn pink and are fully cooked.
Step 5: Add Lemon Juice: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and stir gently to coat them in the sauce.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve immediately. Enjoy with rice, pasta, or bread.
