Ginataang Gabi

Ginataang Gabi is a creamy Filipino dish made with taro (gabi) cooked in coconut milk (gata). Often enhanced with aromatics like garlic, onions, and ginger, it may also include vegetables like spinach or string beans. Some variations incorporate seafood, pork, or fish for added flavor. This dish is prized for its rich, savory taste and velvety texture.


Ingredients:

* Taro (gabi)

* Coconut milk (gata)

* Garlic

* Onion

* Ginger

* Spinach or string beans (optional)

* Salt and pepper (to taste)

 

Optional: seafood, pork, or fish

 

Instructions:

Step 1: Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.

Step 2: Add taro and seafood, cook briefly.

Step 3: Pour coconut milk and bring to a simmer.

Step 4: Season with salt and pepper.

Step 5: Cook until taro is tender, stirring occasionally.

Step 6: Add optional vegetables or protein, cook until done.
