Sautéed Silver Fish, or Lobo Lobo, is a simple yet flavorful dish often enjoyed in coastal regions. This dish highlights the delicate taste of tiny silver fish, cooked with aromatic ingredients for a savory and satisfying meal. It's perfect as a side dish or paired with rice.
Ingredients:
250g silver fish (Lobo Lobo), cleaned
2 tablespoons cooking oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green chili (optional), sliced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Spring onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Clean the silver fish thoroughly and drain well. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Step 2: Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
Step 3: Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. Then, add the onions and cook until translucent.
Step 4: Add the silver fish to the pan. Stir gently to combine with the aromatics.
Step 6: Pour in the soy sauce and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add green chili if desired for a bit of heat.
Step 7: Sauté the fish for 5–7 minutes or until fully cooked. Avoid over-stirring to keep the fish intact.
