A simple, savory dish of dried fish fried to golden perfection, delivering a salty, crispy treat often paired with rice and a side of vinegar dip.
Ingredients:
4-6 pieces dried fish (e.g., tuyo, danggit, or your choice)
Cooking oil (enough for shallow frying)
Vinegar and chili (optional, for dipping)
Steps:
Step 1: Prepare the Fish: If the dried fish is too salty, rinse it quickly under cold water or soak it in water for 10-15 minutes, then pat dry with paper towels.
Step 2: Heat the Oil: In a frying pan, heat about 1/4 inch of cooking oil over medium heat.
Step 3: Fry the Fish: Add the dried fish to the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until crispy and golden brown. Be careful, as dried fish tends to splatter while frying.
Adjust the heat if needed to prevent burning.
Step 4: Drain and Serve: Remove the fish from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Step 5: Serve Hot: Serve with steamed rice and vinegar dip with optional chili for added flavor.
